Open House 2016
First Baptist Christian School is holding our annual Open House on Friday, February 5, 2016, at 7-8:30pm. Church members and attenders from any of our supporting churches, homeschool families, prospective families, current school families and extended families, and former school families are all invited to come see your school! Click here to see the full program of events with times. No pre-registration is necessary. If you would like to let us know you're coming, please call the school office at 440-458-5185.
The featured display this year is "Around the World in 80 minutes," a cultural experience provided by our 5th through 12th grade students to different countries from each continent around the world-Peru, Israel, Australia, Canada, France, and Nigeria. As part of each experience, students will provide a sampling of tasty treats, different artifacts, and historical information.
All other facets of education here at FBCS will be on display, as well. FBCS and Homeschool Cooperative students will be performing in the areas of music, speech, drama, and puppetry in a come-and-go format in the chapel. The elementary classrooms will be alive with examples of educational supplements like SmartBoards, Spanish curriculum, and more. One of our teachers will be demonstrating the Ignitia (online) curriculum, as well as the Blended Learning Model in the new High School Learning Center for those interested. The Science Lab will be open, with several experiments being performed by our high school students and science teacher. Displays of student artwork will be in different areas of the building. Our newest sports trophies will be out for you to see.
New this year, our Homeschool Cooperative will be on display, both what we have done already this year, as well as a list of activities available for the remainder of the year. We have been very excited to see how this program has grown just throughout this school year, and would love to show our Homeschool families how we can be of service to them!
The FBCS Open House is also registered as a National School Choice Week event. National School Choice Week is a non-political organization intent on showcasing the different educational options available to parents in our country. All students attending Open House will receive a yellow NSCW scarf to take home.
Please plan on joining us anytime between 7pm and 8:30pm on Friday night. See you there!
