Nick is an alumnus of FBCS (1997). He has been serving on the school board since 2016. His wife, Tina (FBCS Class of 1997) also serves at FBCS as the learning center monitor. They have six children–Maddie (FBCS Class of 2023), Abe (FBCS Class of 2025), Sammy (FBCS Class of 2028), Ruby (Class of 2029), Gloria (Class of 2032), and Bo (Class of 2034). Nick serves as a deacon at First Baptist Church of Elyria.
