New EdChoice Scholarship rules to benefit FBCS!
FBCS is pleased to share the following information about the state-funded EdChoice Scholarship Program. Both the EdChoice Scholarship for low-performing schools and the EdChoice Expansion income-based scholarship are open for enrollment. Your student must be accepted and completely enrolled in FBCS to apply for the scholarship If you meet the qualifications, the EdChoice scholarship will award up to $4650 per student for grades K – 8 and $6000 per student for grades 9-12.. The scholarship program has two different aspects. Please read carefully to see if you qualify for either. You may also contact the school office at (440) 458-5185 with any questions.
The Educational Choice (EdChoice) Scholarship Program offers students in grades K – 12 the opportunity to attend a private school for little or no cost. This scholarship is available to students assigned to low performing school districts who meet certain qualifications. To see if your school district is included in the list of low performing schools, please visit www.education.ohio.gov/edchoice or click here.
If your student is assigned to a low performing school for the 2020-2021 school year, please check to see if he/she meets any one of the following qualifications:
- The student is a new kindergartner.
- The student is entering high school (grades 9-12).
- The student has never been enrolled in an Ohio public or private school before.
- The student attends an EdChoice designated public school in his/her residential district and is assigned to an EdChoice designated school next year.
- The student attends a public school is his/her residential district and is assigned to and EdChoice designated school next year.

The EdChoice Expansion Program is an income-based program. It provides students in grades K – 12 the opportunity to attend a private school for little or no cost when his/her family income is at or below 200% of the federal poverty level. Please refer the chart below to see if your family qualifies.
